‘Little Giant is Back’ Altuve, revived as AL player of the week

‘Little Giant’ Jose Altuve (33, Houston Astros), who has not been able to play many games due to injury, announced the perfect return.

The Major League Secretariat announced on the 15th (Korean time) that Altuve was selected as the American League Player of the Week. This is the 4th award in my personal career and the first award I received in 6 years.

Altuve boasted a high-sensitivity bat with a batting average of 0.520, 1 home run, 6 RBIs, 9 runs, 13 hits, and an on-base percentage of 0.613 and an OPS of 1.373 in 6 games over the past week.

In particular, Altuve recorded multi-hits in four consecutive games from the Baltimore Orioles on the 10th to the Los Angeles Angels on the 13th. In the 11th, he blew up with 4 hits (1 home run, 2 doubles).

As a result, Altuve recorded a batting average of 0.314, 9 homers, 27 RBIs, 43 points, 58 hits, and an on-base percentage of 0.413 OPS of 0.948 in 48 games of the season until the 14th.

Although the number of games he participated in was small due to injury, he is showing a very good slash line. Altuve’s performance is a great boost to Houston, which is competing for the district championship.

Altuve, who is in his 13th year in the major leagues, is synonymous with a small giant. Ahead of this season, during the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) game, he broke away from the sand dunes for a long time.

In addition, Altuve felt side pain during batting training in early July and was unable to play for a considerable period of time. Accordingly, he played only 49 games until the 14th.안전놀이터

But Altuve has been in perfect form late into the season, and that should be a big boost for Houston, which is 2.5 games behind the division lead through the 14th.
