‘1 win, 1 draw’ Kim Eun-joong, early round of 16 possible… Losing 6 goals to Gambia Maginot line

Kim Eun-joong’s chances of advancing to the round of 16 have increased.

The Korean national under-20 (U-20) team led by coach Kim Eun-joong played against Honduras in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup Group F Group Stage 2 match held at Malvinas Stadium in Mendoza, Argentina on the 25th (hereinafter Korean time). It was a 2-2 draw. 먹튀검증

With a draw on the day, Korea won 2-1 against France in the first group match and then tried to win two consecutive victories against Honduras, but it ended in a draw, resulting in one win and one draw. 1st place in Group F is Gambia, which won consecutive victories over Honduras and France.

South Korea secured at least third place after two matches. France has lost 2 matches and is staying at 0 points, while 3rd place Honduras is in 3rd place with 1 draw and 1 loss (1 point).

The atmosphere changed completely as France, which had emerged as a favorite to win, lost consecutively.

Therefore, if Korea wins the final group match against Gambia on the 29th, they will be ranked 1st in the group and if they draw, they can go directly to the round of 16 with 2nd place. Even if you lose, you can mark 3rd place by widening the gap with France.

Although the match ended in a draw in the second match, Korea’s chances of advancing to the round of 16 are high.

In particular, even if Korea loses to Gambia and stays in third place, the atmosphere is good. South Korea will have to compete on points with the third-placed teams in the other group. This is because the first and second place in each group will pass through the group stage, and the top four teams from the third place in each group will also advance to the round of 16.

However, with the group stage of Groups A to B all over, Korea is ahead of the third-place teams in other groups in terms of points and goal difference.

In Group A, New Zealand finished 3rd with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss (4 points). However, since the goal difference is -4, Korea has an advantage.

Therefore, if Korea does not lose the final game against Gambia by 6 goals, they will be ahead of New Zealand.

Also, if Korea concedes 5 goals and the goal difference is tied, Korea has already scored 4 goals, so it is ahead of New Zealand who scored 3 goals.

In the end, Korea was already ahead of Slovakia (3 points), who placed 3rd in Group B, in the wild card race to advance to the round of 16.

In particular, depending on the results of the Group C and Group D final matches on the 28th and the final match of Group E on the 29th, there is a possibility that Korea’s advance to the round of 16 will be confirmed early.
